  1. I love the podcasts that give you ideas of how to use technology or teach skills in the classroom in the area you are interested in. I also like the online classroom as it teaches you about different ways to work with kids in an area of concern. It is a great place for Para’s to watch videos and take a quick to get their inservice hours and they can actually get the information in an area of need that they currently are working with a student on. If you have a student you are struggling with or just want more information you can go to say Reading and there are downloads, websites, software ideas, and even Apps you can explore to find what best meets your needs.

    1. I agree with you in that there are SO MANY awesome resources available on this site! My trouble is, when school starts up and extra time becomes harder and harder to come by, I don't feel like getting on a website like this to browse through everything it has to offer. Most times, I just instinctively reach for the same old same old, you know??? Which is bad of me, because like everyone's mentioned, there's just so much good stuff on here.

    1. I totally agree with Amy and Carol. My paras have used it in the past for points as well. Maybe one of these days...Thanks Amy for the info.

  3. My paras have used Infinitec to get their hours. The paras and I used Infinitec when we need information about autism. We all thought it was very helpful.

  4. After reading Amy’s post, I logged into Infinitec and tried to use the program. I got a little frustrated with it, it wasn’t as user friendly as I hoped it would be. When searching for a course by topic, I was able to locate them in the course catalog, but then couldn’t make them open.
I have looked at the recommended apps on the site and have downloaded and tried a few of them. I appreciate being able to look at suggested apps without scrolling through the complete app store. I never know when searching through the app store if the app is worth trying or not. By checking with educational sites, I feel more comfortable trying some of the apps.

  6. I mainly use the infinitec for my para's to get their points. I did watch the video's on autism because I wanted to see what information it was giving my para's about my autistic student. It was a beneficial video to watch. My para's like having access to a convenient resource for knowledge and making points. It is a bit confusing getting on the first time but one of my para's has it all figured out and helps the rest of us.

  7. I have never used infinitec before, but our para's have. They have showed me some of the things they have worked on and for the most part it seems like good material. The one drawback that I know is that it seems picky. One para has had a hard time getting to work on some computers. Don't know if it was the system or our computes.

  8. I have para professionals that have used infinite, but I had never used it. I just pulled up the website and was surprised at all the information there. I was surprised at the adaptive information for those with physical disabilities. Will definitely explore this website some more!

  9. I have explored infinitec to find things for my paras to look at and watch to get their hours. I think there is great information on it, specifically related to technology and Autism. I haven't personally taken a class from it, but I have seen what the format looks like and what the videos/webinars look like.

  10. Like others have mentioned, I had used Infinitec in the past as a way to help my para get her PDC points (She seemed satisfied with the videos, quizzes, etc., but I remember a couple times she had trouble with the videos loading. I think this was probably due to tech issues in the district, though.), but otherwise, I really hadn’t thought too much about it. After starting this blog, I got back on to explore it a little more, and found several resources that I thought were very interesting and beneficial (I really like the App Search section.). I’m glad this was a topic that got brought up, because I’m really going to try to make a conscious effort to get on there more and utilize the vast amount of information that’s available.

  11. My paraprofessionals have used this site in the past to get required training hours. It was an easy way to get just a few extra for late hires. I've referred new staff to the videos, especially in the autism section.

  12. Infinitec has been a great way for the paras to get PDC points. It is awesome to pull up a video pertaining to a certain disability and have paras watch it to learn more about the children they are working with. At times the video do not load so the paras have to go to another video. It is a way to keep paras educated with ongoing learning. I have even made them watch a certain video if they are really struggling with certain kids. I pull up a video pertaining to their struggles and it has helped them to gain information to help them work with the kids. It is not just me telling them what to do.I have struggled some with the videos loading at times and log in information not working but we always seem to get it going.
